Job Description QUALIFICATIONS: A four year degree from an accredited institution with NC certification in assigned area of teaching. REPORTS TO: Principal JOB GOAL: To demonstrate leadership, to establish a respectful environment for a diverse population of students, to know the content they teach, to facilitate learning for their students, and to reflect on their practice. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Build leadership among the staff and with the administration to bring consensus and shared ownership of the school vision. Make content engaging, relevant, and meaningful, aligning instruction with common core and 21st century standards. Teach core content revised to include critical thinking, problem solving, and ICT literacy. Facilitate instruction using a variety of methods and technology integration. Assess student learning and help them work in teams and develop leadership qualities. Collaborate with families and adults to adapt teaching for students with special needs and embrace fairness. Demonstrate ethical principles of honesty, integrity, fair treatment, and respect. Serve as a team player and role model, supporting continuous improvement and core values. Perform other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders. Have finger dexterity and perform basic life operational functions such as kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
