Adjunct Instructor - Spanish Job Category: Adjunct Faculty Worksites: Appleton Main Campus, Chilton Regional Center, Clintonville Regional Center, Oshkosh Riverside Campus, Waupaca Regional Center Hours Per Week: 8.75 Job Description Summary Adjunct Instructors are responsible for facilitating student learning and continuously developing instructional strategies that meet student and employer needs. This position primarily teaches Spanish but preference is given to candidates with multiple certifications, such as other languages and cultures, international/intercultural studies, Intensive English Program, and English Language Learning. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Learning Facilitation - Foster student learning by developing instructional strategies that meet diverse student needs and support engagement. Create hybrid, in person, virtual, and online learning experiences. Assessment - Evaluate student learning, provide regular feedback, use data to measure outcomes, and design improvement strategies based on evidence. Classroom Management - Maintain schedules, student attendance and grade records, an instructional environment, safety, housekeeping, equipment security, and opportunities for student engagement evaluation. Team Participation - Engage with division, department, and team members; stay current with internal and external changes and initiatives. Business & Community Engagement - Build and maintain relationships with community, industry, and partners; promote the college and its programs. Student Success & Support - Advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services to retain students, close achievement gaps, and promote success. Professional Development - Continuously improve knowledge and skills through professional development, networking, and integrating new techniques and technology; maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and required licensure for accreditation. Minimum Qualifications Education and/or Experience Requirements: Master's degree in Spanish or related subfield, OR Master's degree plus 18 graduate credits in the discipline or subfield taught, OR Master's degree plus appropriate licensure and/or experience in the discipline or subfield taught. When evaluating candidates with a Master of Education but not a discipline specific master's, graduate level courses in the discipline/subfield and methods courses specifically for teaching that discipline/subfield may be considered for the 18 credit hour minimum. Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and subject to a vehicle records disclosure check. Proficiency with the learning management system. Strong verbal communication skills. Adapt quickly to changing demands, assignments, and circumstances. Effective professional communication with diverse audiences. Commitment to continuous improvement by embracing innovative methodologies and delivery methods. Background check; information may be considered in determining suitability. Physical Requirements Sitting: Extended periods while using computer systems. Mobility: Desk based work and instructional activities. Climbing: Ability to climb stairs or ladders if required. Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting of light to moderate items (up to 25 pounds). Fine Motor Skills: Precise hand movements for writing, demonstrations, or technology use. Repetitive Motions: Typing or similar motions without discomfort. Communication: Clear verbal and written skills for interacting with staff, candidates, and stakeholders. Travel: Off site teaching, fieldwork, or professional development may require travel. Driving: Valid driver's license required if driving is part of the role.
