Full-Time Seafood Counter Team Member

Join our dynamic seafood team where you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service at our service counter, while ensuring a clean and stocked department. As a Seafood Counter Team Member, you will engage with customers, assist in maintaining product quality, and uphold the values of Whole Foods Market by delivering friendly and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain an attractive display by checking product freshness, rotating stock, and ensuring cleanliness of cases and shelves.
• Keep department signage and pricing accurate.
• Organize and manage back stock effectively.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for both team members and customers.
• Assist with the sample program, ensuring that sample areas are well-presented and maintained.
• Keep workspaces clean, including glass and equipment, and comply with safety regulations.
• Prepare seafood by skinning, deboning, cooking, or smoking as needed, including proper labeling and dating of products.
• Participate in inventory checks and assist with a variety of assigned duties.
• Commit to punctuality and maintain a professional appearance while attending all required trainings.
• Deliver outstanding customer service through clear communication and effective product recommendations.
• Maximize sales through effective product handling and merchandising practices.
• Follow established protocols for health, safety, and sanitation.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing tasks as assigned, ensuring pricing accuracy.
• Report any safety hazards or violations immediately.
• Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisors.

• No prior retail experience necessary.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Standing or walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift.
• Capable of using hands for tasks involving fine manipulation.
• Skill in bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and temperatures around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Ability to work in wet and cold environments and handle knives and cutting tools.
• Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Competence in using tools and equipment such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks.

The wage range for this position is $16.00-$25.40 per hour, based on experience. Whole Foods Market offers a wide range of benefits, including store discounts, paid time off, health and wellness support, and other perks. Eligibility for benefits is determined based on the terms of the Whole Benefits plan at the time of hire. New team members who complete 90 days of employment may be eligible for a base rate increase.
