Human Resources Generalist

Our client, a dynamic and fast-paced food manufacturing industry specializing in seafood processing, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their team. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be part of the Human Resources Department supporting production, warehouse, quality assurance, maintenance, and administrative teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience, proactive problem-solving, and strong organizational skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Anacortes, WA

Pay Range: $30/hr-$35/hr DOE

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

What's the Job?

  • Recruit, interview, and hire a diverse range of employees including production staff, sanitation, warehouse, quality assurance, maintenance, and administrative personnel.
  • Manage hiring processes, coordinate job postings, applicant tracking, background checks, onboarding, and new hire documentation.
  • Address employee relations issues such as attendance, coaching, disciplinary actions, grievances, and workplace concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws, OSHA, workers' compensation, and safety regulations.
  • Support payroll processing, benefits enrollment, leave management, and employee recordkeeping to maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation.

What's Needed?

  • Minimum of 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, food processing, or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Washington State and Federal labor laws and employment regulations.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and automated payroll systems (ERP).
