Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive business analyses to influence the strategic decisions of the Business Development department.
Support the implementation of process improvements to optimize project deliverables.
Research and analyze potential market trends to identify new opportunities.
Assist with diverse special projects within the Business Development team, ensuring alignment with overall goals.
Provide support for ad-hoc reporting needs and various miscellaneous tasks.
As an Operations & Business Development Associate intern, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience in operational execution, capture management, proposal development, and federal growth strategies. You will support Federal Operations and Business Development, with training aimed at enhancing client delivery, operational execution, and growth activities in the Air Force and broader Department of Defense (DoD) market.
Throughout the internship, you will have the opportunity to shadow senior leadership and actively engage in key activities such as operational planning, customer engagement preparations, business development pipeline management, and proposal efforts. Upon successful completion of the internship, you will be well-prepared for a full-time role focused on federal operations and growth initiatives, akin to that of a senior program manager or senior director.
Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in a related field with at least 2 years of completed coursework.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
Proficiency with standard computer applications and platforms, particularly Outlook, MS Office Suite, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Excellent skills in interpersonal communication, teamwork, and customer service.
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail.

Total Number of Weeks: 6 Weeks
Week 1: Introduction to the Maximus Organization - Develop a solid understanding of Maximus' history, values, federal customer base, service offerings, and internal functional lanes.
Week 2: Maximus Operations & Federal Business Overview - Gain insights into how Maximus structures and executes federal contracts, including operational delivery models and customer engagement methods.
Week 3: Business Development Fundamentals - Learn the federal business development lifecycle including identifying and qualifying business opportunities for Maximus programs.
Week 4: Capture & Proposal Support - Understand the capture and proposal development processes by assessing program objectives and customer requirements.
Week 5: Operational Planning & Growth Alignment - Apply principles of operational planning and risk considerations to support business growth efforts.
Week 6: Strategic Growth & Transition Planning - Evaluate operational performance influences on growth strategies; prepare a transition plan and capstone brief.
